The main thing about choosing your hamsters is thinking about age because hamsters live for 1-2 years on average so you need to pick a young hamster if you want to have time with him/her. From 5 weeks old is the ideal age.
When looking at the hamsters ask to handle them so you can also get a feel for one you like and also check for the following:
-Bottom area should be clean not wet.
-Eyes should be bright and clean.
-No scars should appear.
If it has any of the above then don’t buy it!
